Your cabin wherever you want
With more classic building processes, you end up having to live with a big mess and a timeline that seems to go on forever. Now, imagine if your ready-made unit was delivered to your place and could be enjoyed in the same day.
Modern modular construction
Modular construction allows us to deliver a finished product, on time and on budget with less waste of both materials and time. The construction is done in our factories in a safe and suitable environment.
How it works
1. Choose your cabins
Determine if you want the full set or maybe just the My Milla or My Kalmus.
2. Ensure you’re ready
Purchase your property or outline the space on your current property for the unit(s) and choose a general contractor for your site work. We will work with you and your GC to align on project details and prep
*Reference below "does your site qualify"
3. Sales agreement and deposit
You'll receive the final design with a summary of the specifications, the estimated price with tax and shipping, and the full sales agreement for signing. Sign the sales agreement and pay a $4,000 (50% refundable) deposit to receive your site specific plans for permitting
4. Apply for legal permits
If your municipality requires them, this is the time to get those permits in order. We will assist by providing all needed design documents and consult with you and your local contractor.
5. We start building your cabins
Once permits and 50% down payment is received, construction begins of your MyCabin unit in our factory
6. Groundwork and foundation
Once your permits are in order, the foundation and site prep work can begin with your contractor.
7. Delivery and set-up
Your cabin is delivered on a truck and placed on the prepared foundation by crane, all in one day. Installation is handled by your contractor on your land.
8. Enjoy your new place!
Your new cabin is move-in ready. It’s really that fast and easy!
*Timeline is approximate, subject to several factors
Does your site qualify?
Before we start, review the following items for your property:
Proximity to sewage/water hookup
Zoning guidelines and restrictions
Accessibility for 80'-90' trucks and a crane
Restrictions on minimum square footage
We offer access to a mortgage provider that understands our product and the options our customers have. For questions regarding financing, please feel free to contact our preferred lender, Great Lakes Home Mortgage. You should also be able to work with your own bank as this is modular construction built to US code.
Where can My Cabin deliver the units?
The My Cabin product is fully finished in the factory in Illinois and placed on a truck for shipment to nearly all 50 states. PrefabPads is also ready to work with customers in Canada to plan a shipment to your property.
